3 Quick Tips for the New Samsung Galaxy S7

The Samsung Galaxy S7 went on sale earlier this month, and has been met with almost universal praise from both critics and the public. The new phone continues Samsung’s attention to the ultra-premium details that were introduced with the Galaxy S6. IP68 dust and waterproofing, a gorgeous 5.1inch 577ppi display, a snappy Qualcomm 820 processor, and a hugely capable 12MP camera will make this one of the hottest phones this year. If you’ve just picked one up, or if you’re planning to do so in the near future, then familiarizing yourself with some of these three quick tips will help you to make the most of your new device.

Quick Launching the Camera
Gone are the days when cell phones came with two stage shutter buttons for easy photo taking, but this doesn’t mean that it’s difficult to quickly capture shots with the S7. Double tapping the home key will take you directly to the camera, no matter where you are inside the phone. The camera screen is setup for quick shots, but there’s another trick for those who want some more control. Tap mode and then tap pro, and you’ll have access to all of the advanced camera controls to fine tune your shots.

Disable the Always on Display
The S7 features an always on display, reminiscent of the glance features that Nokia introduced way back with the N8. Although the screen technology allows this to operate with minimal power usage, you may still want to turn off this feature to get the most battery life from your new phone. To disable the setting, navigate to settings, tap display, then open always on display, and you will be able to disable this mode.

Changing Color Modes
Samsung is well known for their vibrant displays, but the exaggerated color saturation isn’t for everyone. Navigate from settings, to display, screen mode, and then basic. From here you can select different color profiles. The basic setting will provide you with a flatter color profile which is perfect for those who don’t like the oversaturated qualities of Super-AMOLED screens.
