iMessage Not Coming To Android

There was a rumor that Apple could be creating an app for Android that would allow iMessage to be used across the two platforms. This isn’t happening, folks! According to Apple, they’re keeping iMessage strictly an Apple application.

Though that’s not happening, the macOS and the iOS message apps have been tweaked and upgraded. If you’re holding your breath and waiting for iMessage to make the platform leap, you may want to take a deep breath because it won’t be happening anytime soon, if ever.

Why? The answer to that is pretty simple, according to Apple. With iMessage locked to Apple and its specific hardware, it helps push more of their products. Macs, iPhones, iPads, and their specific apps are one of the biggest reasons that people purchase Apple products. For now, the company isn’t going to share apps for this very reason. Allowing Android to use iMessage would give consumers less reason to want to buy an iPhone. Apple’s choice will keep their users using alternate means of communication to cross-platform and most of those apps are able to be used in web browsers. For all of you Android users, sorry! The only app you’re going to have access to for the foreseeable future is Apple Music.
