In the 2nd quarter of 2017, the notebook shipment of Apple made an estimated 3.9 million units. According to the new data released by TrendForce, this represents a 17% increase in the quarter-to-quarter sales.

In the ranking of 2nd quarter, the company ground ASUS at 5th place. This makes a 0.65% increase over the past quarter, leaving Apple and ASUS to take 10% market share. TrendForce emphasized the decision of Apple to update their MacBook 12-inch as one reason for their gains.
In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Shipments of global notebook listed a successive 5.7% quarterly increase. It also listed a 3.5% year-on-year increase. This totals 39.97 million units. The main driving force behind the shipments of 2nd quarter wes said to be the arrival of new models and the sales in the United States. Meanwhile, in the 2nd quarter, Lenovo just shipped around 8.04 million units. This represents a drop of 2.5% on the year-on-year shipment. According to TrendForce, there will be worries in the market that this year’s shipment results will pull off some shipment in the upcoming 3rd quarter. However, it is also expected that the shipments of notebook in the 3rd quarter will increase around 3 up to 5% unlike the 2nd quarter.
According to some analyst, Apple is working on a top-end MacBook Pro 15-inch model that would include RAM of 32GB. It is said that the production of this device will begin in the 4th quarter of 2017.
